Tithes for yourself

For years the church has expressed the importance of the tithe. The tithe in the Christian construct is giving away ten percent of your income to the church. Some pastors state if you tithe then you will get a blessing in the future. Others believe that the tithe is just a clever marketing gimmick in order to generate revenue for the church. Whatever your thoughts are, the idea or concept of the tithe when used for your own financial planning can be empowering.

“Turn to your neighbor and say neighbor are you ready to give?”… One of the most important principals in financial planning is saving. The principal of ten percent of your gross income going into a savings account for yourself can provide you with an immediate and guaranteed blessing. Having your income automatically withdrawn into a savings account is an excellent way to generate money. Tithing for yourself is the ability to take a biblical principal and apply it to your own financial wellbeing.

Are you ready to give to yourself? Are you ready to change your financial life around? Here are the steps:

Step #1 Open a new savings account

Step #2 Create a direct deposit of 10% which will be allocated to your savings account

Step #3 Do not look at your new savings account balance (you will be tempted to spend)for at least six months

Step #4 Pretend the money is not even there

Consider paying yourself first, it is a great way to get started making money.
