1. What is GFC?
GFCnewyork is one of the greatest branding firms ever established. We do consulting for a bunch of clothing lines, artists, actors, musicians and party promoters. We’re reinventing what culture is supposed to be.
2. How long did it take you to build GFC?
GFC has been in my blood since I exited the womb. It’s been a lifetime in the making. But we’ve established our goals and plans in 2005. And we’ve been behind the scenes leading the tastemakers into the future.
3. Did you write a business plan?
Of course. What firm doesn’t have a business plan? Lol. As you can see the business plan is being fulfilled day by day.
4. What is GFC’s organizational structure?
Well we have a music entity, managing entity, design entity and a consulting entity. These different pieces create GFCnewyork. Each person in our firm works their specific job to the best of their abilities. Sometimes we even do each others job. Except mine. I write everything!
5. What are the different business units within GFC?
GFCmusic, Designattic, Laced Magazine, Saints & Soldiers, Precize Productions and StreetCosignor.
6. How did you build your team?
Everybody in the team went thru training camp. You gotta earn your keep in GFCnewyork. So if you show and prove, then your title will be handed without a word being spoken.
7. What were some of your difficulties you faced created your business?
Dealing with broken promises, missing deadlines, cancelled meetings, etc. You know, the usual bullshit.
8. How did you overcome those difficulties?
Adversity overcomes any and everything. That’s why we’re we are at now because of our tight knit. You can’t unloosen this shit right here.
9. How do you deal with disagreements within your team?
We family, so we talk it out. We sometimes fight but what family doesn’t?
10. What are the goals for GFC?
To be the epicenter of the lives of every human being. We will achieve that.
11. Who is Mickey Factz?
Mickey Factz is the future of music and fashion. I’m your girlfriends dream and a haters nightmare. I’m everything you would wanna be when you grow up.
12. Where are you trying to take the rap game?
I’m taking rap to 2016. Get ready to jump in the K-1 Attack. Cause that’s where we going.
13. What are your goals?
My goal is to win a Grammy. Literally. Aside from that, making sure my team is established. As well as finding a better way to distribute and sell music. It’s not that tough. These goals are all evident and will happen very soon. Mark my words…
14. What do you want your legacy to be?
I want people to remember me as being the average man who had a dream and lived it. He went thru sooooo much and still didn’t let anything deter him from reaching his final destination. As kanye said, giving up is way harder than trying. People need to remember I do this for my culture.
15. Why did you decide to end your career as a paralegal?
Because making music is more exciting than looking at papers alllllll damn day. The love of music overpowered the justice system.
16. How do deal with haters?
I respond to them in songs. That’s the way I handle it. Its the greatest feeling to shut em down. I love it.
17. If you had $1 million dollars what would you do with it?
Buy my mom a house. Invest in GFC and in the stock market. Also, make sure I’m straight for 10 years as far as a living situation. Then just save the rest.
18. Do think there is opportunity to make money in Hip Hop independently?
Hell yea! Shows and selling of merch. Watch. We are gonna fix the whole purchasing of music dilemma very soon. It’s all about putting out quality music. Once you do that, your good.
19. Who is your favorite African American business person? Why?
Denzel Washington. That’s the definition of determination and passion. He does what he does to the best of his abilities and he won’t stop until he can’t breathe anymore. I’m the same way. So I look to him as inspiration.
20. If you one word to describe yourself what will it be?
Extravagant
21. What can we expect from Mickey Factz or GFC in the future?
An Ep and a full length album on my own label. Also all 3 of the upcoming artists coming off the label. Jade, Nakim and FKi. More songs, videos, pictures, parties and groupies!
